i left you on a cold day in december

“i left you on a cold day in december” is a unique video installation created by Randy Gibson with choreographic images by Laine Rettmer. Employing random imperceptibly moving images of flesh, “i left you on a cold day in december” brings both physicality and stasis to the video realm. Set within the confines of a narrow spectrum of the harmonic series and using a very limited palette of colors, the constantly changing images and pitches create a physical experience that is disorienting and entrancing for the eyes and the ears. Choices as to image, duration, and exact pitch are chance determined by chance in direct alignment with the chaos and anarchy of everyday life.

“i left you on a cold day in december” exists also as a short film suitable for screenings. Click here for more information
