Voices + Sine Waves is a collection of short works by Randy Gibson. Shiver for seven sine waves from the production with Oscar Henriquez and Laine Rettmer; Two Sides, in two different realizations, from the video by Ana Baer-Carrillo and Kim Olson; Distant Melodies From A Cold Day Between 23 and 29 from Gibson’s film, i left you on a cold day in december; Julia from an early dance commission in 1999; and Mujeres de Juárez for solo singer and computer processing from the film by Ana Baer-Carrillo and sung by Laine Rettmer. These five works present an overview of Gibson’s work from the last ten years, and and exploration of those most primal of elements, the sine wave, and the voice.
